Meet Yanique P. Walters
My story, qualifications, and the mission behind Sis, You Are HER
I’m Yanique P. Walters—an author, speaker, leadership coach, and the founder behind the growing HER movement, a community dedicated to helping women rediscover their confidence, reclaim their voice, and step fully into who they were created to be.
Originally from Jamaica and now based in Atlanta, my journey has been shaped by resilience, faith, and a deep belief in the power of transformation. Over the years, my career has taken me from the world of technology and business leadership into the work I feel most called to do: empowering people to grow, heal, and lead with authenticity.
As a John Maxwell Certified Speaker, Coach, and Trainer, I’ve spent years guiding individuals and organizations toward stronger leadership and personal development. But my work today reaches even deeper.
Through my book Sis, You Are HER: Healing, Evolving & Reclaiming, I created a powerful resource for women who have spent years pouring into others while forgetting how to choose themselves. The book has become more than a message—it’s part of a movement helping women rebuild confidence, embrace their worth, and step into a new chapter of their lives.
Beyond writing, I continue to speak, mentor, and create spaces where meaningful conversations about healing, leadership, faith, and personal growth can happen. Whether through coaching, speaking engagements, community initiatives, or partnerships with organizations that support women, my mission remains the same:
To remind people of their power and help them step boldly into the life they were created to live.
This platform is not just about professional success—it’s about becoming the strongest, most confident version of yourself.
And if you’re here, it means you’re already on that journey.
Welcome.
Yanique Personal Background
Every leader has a story; mine is one of resilience, growth, and unwavering determination. Born and raised in Jamaica, I developed a strong work ethic and an innate curiosity for technology and business from a young age. As the oldest sibling in a single-parent household, I naturally stepped into a leadership role early on, helping to raise my siblings while my mother worked tirelessly to provide for us. This experience instilled in me a deep sense of responsibility and the foundational leadership skills that have guided me throughout my life.
My academic journey took me to the University of Technology, Jamaica, where I earned my BS in Information Technology, and later to Purdue University, where I completed my MBA. These academic achievements were not just milestones but stepping stones towards realizing a broader vision of success. Throughout my career, I’ve worn many hats—IT professional, entrepreneur, creative designer, and now a certified leadership coach. Each role has been a chapter in a story defined by perseverance and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
But it’s not just about the titles or qualifications; it’s about the experiences that have shaped me. My decision to move from Jamaica to America in search of a better life is a testament to my resilience and determination. This journey wasn’t easy, but it was necessary, and it reflects the same courage I strive to inspire in others.
As a mother to a wonderful 6-year-old son, who is my world, I’m driven by the desire to create a legacy of leadership and empowerment. My passion for helping others stems from my own journey through challenges, triumphs, and continuous learning. This passion led me to establish a non-profit organization, “Friends with Purpose,” through which I’ve had the privilege of helping the homeless and those in need.
Additionally, I’ve started businesses aimed at providing opportunities for those less fortunate, teaching them skills to find a better way in life. It brings me immense joy to meet people who continue to use the lessons they learned from me, as it reaffirms the impact I strive to make every day.
Whether it’s through coaching, speaking, or writing, my goal is to inspire others to embrace their unique strengths and lead with confidence and authenticity. My story is a testament to the power of resilience, and I’m committed to helping others find their own paths to success.
